In late March, UMS had the opportunity to become a Golf Hole Sponsor for the Hobsons Bay Community Fund Golf Day at the Kooringal Golf Club. This is an annual fundraising event that contributes to solving local challenges or create opportunities that help to build a fair, inclusive and vibrant community. The event was very successful, and a team of UMS employees participated in the competition and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
The Hobsons Bay Community Fund (HBCF) is a charitable fund established to support and strengthen the community of Hobsons Bay for present and future generations. The Golf Day is an important fundraising event which helps HBCF to support its local organisations to promote environmental sustainability and achieve economic, racial and social fairness within its community.
UMS is a founding supporter of the Hobsons Bay Community Golf Day and is proud to have the opportunity to sponsor a golf hole and give back to the community. UMS employees – Mike Hoy, Luke Geiger and Graeme Dunstan (image from left to right)– participated in the competition and reaped the fun and health benefits from the activity. Mike Hoy, Executive Manager of Grounds and Open Space, said that “[it] was a beautiful day for golf and there was a full field of players…[the] UMS team played well [and] finished [the game at] mid-field”.
Overall, it was a successful day! Professionals from a diverse field of backgrounds attended the event with fresh food and drinks and amazing raffle prizes. UMS would like to say congratulations to all the golf day winners this year.
