UMS Australia acquired by the Programmed Group
As you may be aware, UMS has been looking for the right partners to seek investment from, to strengthen UMS’s financial position and allow us to better service you.
In light of the sale last month of UMS New Zealand to Recreational Services, I am pleased to announce the sale of UMS Australia to the Programmed Group. This transaction was announced this week at a UMS ‘town hall’ meeting with the entire team and it’s expected to be well received by all staff and the wider UMS customer base.
Programmed will be taking over the reins of our entire UMS Australian business, with the transition set for the last day of November.
Programmed is a leading provider of staffing, facility management, maintenance and care services. They employ over 30,000 people every year across a broad range of industries and partner with more than 10,000 customers, small and large.
Whilst this change ends the long-standing ownership of myself after 25 plus years, it’s an exciting juncture and opportunity for both UMS’s services to be offered to Programmed customers as well as Programmed services to UMS’s customers.
We are super pleased that Programmed will be employing all of our people, which means clients will continue to enjoy the relationship and knowledge of their UMS relationship manager.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the entire UMS team for all their efforts in making the business what it is today. We have grown from zero employees in 1995, to a staff of over 500 over the last 28 years. Whilst there have been many challenges along the way, I am proud of what we were able to deliver and the pace of growth and could not have done this without our amazing people – to them I express my heartfelt gratitude.
I would like to give my thanks to the whole executive leadership for their support, advice and efforts during this time. Once the transition is completed, I will be leaving UMS to focus on my own family businesses.
If you have any questions or concerns, as always, please do not hesitate to speak to your relationship manager or myself.
