This year UMS took part in the annual Western Sydney Parklands Food Fest. This year’s home-grown theme pays tribute to the Local Heroes who grow and produce food locally in Western Sydney – some running successful family businesses for more than 20 years.
UMS had five team members on site who managed the waste and cleaned the amenities on the day. There were 3 cubic metres (1,300kg) of general waste collected and diverted to landfill. We also took a proactive approach to recycling and managed to recycle 320kg’s of waste. Which was then collected, diverted, sorted and recycled. This was a huge achievement for our team and Western Sydney Parklands Food Fest as it was around 25% of the waste.
The day was an all-round success. “[We] really enjoyed working with you. We are certain that your activation really enhanced the event and appreciate your terrific support.” Said the Director of Food Fest, Joanna Savill.
