Victoria Gardens sunken oval has been an important part of the fabric of Melbourne and Council recognises this. The City of Stonnington commenced development works with UMS to improve the turf and enhance irrigation.
Works include the installation of a new irrigation system on the sunken oval. New lawn throughout the park, re-levelling and re-turfing the sunken oval. Along with the creation of a new granitic sand path (linking the playground with the existing pathway in the gardens).
These works will improve the year-round quality of grass on the sunken oval and throughout the gardens. In particular, allowing the gardens to accommodate off-leash dog exercising and Council events.
The improvement works ran until October 2017; in time for peak springtime use. UMS is proud to have assisted in these park improvements.
