The most exciting music event of the Sydney Festival has returned – Symphony Under the Stars. 2018 marked the 32nd time the Sydney Symphony Orchestra has performed for its locals. This outdoor concert was the biggest concert yet for Western Sydney.
The event was a huge success with an estimated crowd of 10,000+ (which exceeded expectations). UMS had two team members on site who managed waste and ensured all amenities were clean. Post-event, UMS’ staff spend half a day making sure the grounds were as pristine as they were prior to the event. Litter takes years to break down. It releases pollutants into the air, water and soil and can impact wildlife. UMS understands the negative impacts of litter on the environment and takes a proactive approach in managing its waste stream and cleaning duties.
The day was an all-round success as Executive Director of Parramatta Park Trust, Suellen Fitzgerald said “We’re grateful to UMS for their support with the successful delivery of Symphony Under the Stars 2018. The concert is a highlight of the Crescent Summer Series which is held in the beautiful World Heritage-listed Parramatta Park every year”.
