A testament to what it is like working for UMS

It should come as no surprise that companies that lead in employee engagement are often some of the most successful and profitable companies. Poor employee engagement means turnover, low morale, poor customer service, and a general blow to your bottom line.

At UMS we treat our employees as well as we treat our clients. We don’t just care about the financial future of our clients; we invest that same care and attention into the financial future of our employees.

Finding good employees is challenging for any business. Even if you manage to find good workers, retaining them is another challenge. High turnover suggests worker dissatisfaction, which reflects poorly on the company. Conversely, long-term employees tend to signify employee satisfaction.

Having long-term employees who have been with the company for many years like Trudy Turner, celebrating 15 years, Tim Killworth and Megan Screen, celebrating 10 years, and Paul Duyvestyn, who celebrates 5 years, is a testament to what it is like working for UMS.

We understand that long-term employees like Tim, Megan, Trudy and Paul have considerable knowledge of the company’s culture and services. They have experienced many changes within the workplace, and consequently understand what works and what doesn’t. In performing their job duties day after day, they develop a strong knowledge base, which results in higher productivity because fewer mistakes are made.

UMS is incredibly proud that almost a third of its employees have stayed with the company for over 5 years (up to 20 years!). At UMS we believe great companies are built on people and culture. This is the foundation of the company, and what makes us unique and successful.
