Victorian Floods
During the February floods in Victoria UMS was heavily involved with the provision
of restoration services to a number of customers.
A number of buildings in Bayside, Cardinia, Hobsons Bay, Mornington Peninsula and
Yarra Ranges Councils were affected by the flooding, including kindergartens, sporting
pavilions, libraries, aged care units and other community buildings.
In addition, UMS assisted Monash City Council with clean up and restoration of private
dwellings for residents involved in their Home and Community Care program.
UMS provided a range of services including:
- Assessment
- Drying and De-humidifying
- Antimicrobial spraying
- Floor covering removal and replacement/recovery
- Electrical safety checks
- Restoration works. E.g. plastering, painting
- Plumbing works
All of these services were prioritised and managed by UMS with particular priority
placed on the restoration of community services like kindergartens and residential
facilities to minimise the impact on user groups and individuals.
