Managing and Maintaining Local Government
Buildings
We are pleased to announce that UMS is the Platinum Sponsor for the Local Government
& Public Sector Building Maintenance & Management Conference to be held on 29 &
30 November 2011 in Melbourne.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Conference. Our CEO, Mark Collins will officially
open the Conference on the morning of Tuesday 29 November. UMS will also have a
stand in the exhibition space.
The General Manager of our Facilities Services division, Bret Butler will present
a paper “Building Maintenance Programs - Impact on Carbon Footprint”. Bret’s presentation
will detail how strategic maintenance programs have the potential to deliver a range
of benefits to both facility asset owners and users. These include operational cost
reduction - particularly in energy consumption, optimised asset life cycle cost,
minimised downtime, increased utility and satisfaction and a reduced total carbon
footprint.
The General Manager of our Infrastructure Services division, Mike Hoy will speak
on “Graffiti Management for Public Structures”. Mike’s presentation will explore
current best practice for the effective management of graffiti on public buildings
and outdoor structures, including the impacts of geo-spatial design, surface selection
and protection, removal strategies and non-physical initiatives.
The conference will have two speaking streams to permit wide coverage of different
building types and uses, as well as addressing general issues. The aim of this conference
is to provide practical guidance to all delegates that can be used immediately.
Speakers will include a broad cross-section of experienced practitioners from both
the public, and private sectors who have broad experience with the wide range of
building types.
