Sam Furphy and Campbell Walker - Change in Roles

After 16 years as CEO, Sam Furphy has taken on a new role at UMS as Chairman of the UMS Advisory Board. Sam will continue with his other responsibilities as Chairman of Furphy’s Foundry and Director of Ultum. The primary reason for the change in Sam’s role at UMS is to distribute his time and focus more evenly and effectively between UMS, Furphy’s Foundry, Ultum and his family.

Sam will be spending some time each week in a business development capacity at UMS and will be working closely with our new CEO, Mark Collins to ensure the continued success of UMS.

Campbell Walker’s role will change from Executive Director – Development to Chairman of the Ultum Advisory Board. Campbell will also continue as an active UMS Advisory Board Director. In addition, Campbell will focus on his other external interests including commitments at St. Vincents Hospital, Melbourne Foundation Day Committee and director of a family business Evolve Developments.

We welcome our new CEO, Mark Collins, a highly competent and experienced senior manager. Mark holds a bachelor of Business Administration and has worked his way through numerous roles and environments to become the dynamic business leader he is today. He has an acute operational understanding of the work we do at UMS, what our customers’ value and proven ability to implement strategies that drive success.

Both Sam and Campbell remain steadfastly determined to see UMS, its people and customers grow and prosper in the years and decades ahead.
